We are pleased to invite you the INCREASE Event “Citizen Science and the Decentralised Conservation of Agrobiodiversity – From Experiment to Structural Innovation in Europe”, taking place on 20 April 2026 in Brussels (Schuman area).
The event will showcase the results and experiences of the INCREASE Citizen Science Experiment, a Horizon 2020 initiative exploring how citizen science can contribute to the conservation and sustainable use of agrobiodiversity, with a particular focus on legumes, and recognised as the winner of the European Union’s Prize for Citizen Science 2024.
Bringing together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners, the event will provide an opportunity to:
The programme will include keynote presentations and stakeholder perspectives from across Europe, as well as a policy panel discussion linking the INCREASE experience to ongoing reflections on future EU initiatives. Speakers include Muki Haklay from the University College London/Muséum National d’Histoire naturelle, recognised for his work in citizen science, and Agata Gulisano, Research Program Officer Plant Breeding and Genetic Resources at the European Commission.
