In the upcoming webinar Science communication and co-creation in libraries, hosted by the Science and Technology Libraries Section, Aarhus Public Libraries in Denmark will share practical experiences of developing libraries as spaces for dialogue, participation, and science engagement.

Through four concrete cases, participants will gain insight into methods, partnerships, and activities that support public engagement with research and scientific topics. The webinar will also introduce a European project that strengthens and inspires this work, highlighting how libraries can play an important role in making science more accessible, relevant, and participatory for diverse communities.

Matilda Tjellden is a Library Developer for Science Communication and Co-creation at Aarhus Public Libraries, Denmark.

With a background as a primary school teacher, she moved into science communication and the development of informal learning environments in public spaces across sectors. Over the past five years, she has focused on engaging people with science in libraries and other public settings, including parks, urban spaces, beaches, and cultural landscapes. Her current work explores how libraries can strengthen trust in science and create meaningful encounters with research, making scientific knowledge relevant, accessible, and engaging for people beyond academic environments.
